Cornelia and Kai Holten run KoruKai Herb Farm on Banks Peninsula. They are both passionate about soil health, as it is the foundation upon which everything depends—be it planetary, environmental, plant, animal, or human health. 

Farming is in Cornelia’s blood and she feels at home milking her cow, making cheese and growing nutritious food for her family. She is also a scientist at heart and wants to know the whys and hows of soil and landscape regeneration through farming, leading her into expansive rabbit holes.

Kai has a passion for silvopasture, permaculture and the regeneration of landscapes by clever design. Observing nature and letting it unfold naturally makes him happy. He comes up with fertiliser brews to add macro and micronutrients to boost plant and soil health. Those are combined with Cornelia’s amazing vermicast extract to make the land sing. They will be sharing some of those recipes at Underground.
