Dr Tim Booth is the commercial manager of Tāmata Hauhā Limited, a New Zealand company that funds and develops diverse ETS-eligible afforestation projects. These range from mixed-species land retirement through to high value timber stands and silvopasture grazing regimes.

With his background in nature conservation and the social sciences, Tim brings a nuanced approach to supporting rural landowners along a path of regenerative land-use change. He leads Tāmata Hauhā’s clients though the financial and regulatory complexity of the New Zealand ETS and ensures all contractual checks and balances enable transparency and clarity of obligation in the company’s afforestation partnerships.

Prior to joining Tāmata Hauhā, Tim worked for the Department of Conservation. He is a founding trustee of the Whanganui Kiwi Conservation Trust, a keen gardener, and passionate about building capacity for local resilience. Tim holds a PhD from the University of Virginia, and degrees from Victoria University of Wellington.
